The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday that surveillance video of Oklahoma running back Joe Mixons punch must be released to the public, according to the Tulsa World and The Oklahoman newspapers. Justices ruled in favor of the Oklahoma Association of Broadcasters, which had been suing for the videos release under the Oklahoma Open Records Act. On Monday, an Oklahoma City federal judge dismissed two-thirds of the lawsuit, according to The Oklahoman, leaving only her claim of intentional infliction of emotional distress. In November, Mixon released a statement apologizing to Molitor. It said, in part: I apologize to Amelia Molitor and the friends who were with her that night. I apologize to my teammates, coaches, the University of Oklahoma and its fans. I apologize to my family and friends. I realize I let a lot of people down. I apologize to all those I disappointed or hurt. Mixon suggested in his statement that racial slurs were hurled at him, which he says initiated the incident. Rick Knighton, an assistant city attorney in Norman, Oklahoma, told the Tulsa World the city was considering its options to determine if it would file an appeal with the state Supreme Court to re-hear the case.
