Lamarcus Joyner went to the Raiders for 4 years and $42 million with $16.7 million in guarantees. Tyrann Mathieu and the Chiefs came to an agreement on a 3 year deal worth $42 million and Eric Weddle settled on a deal with the Rams to replace Lamarcus Joyner in the secondary for 2 years and $10.5 million. With big names flying off the proverbial shelves, Bruce Arians and company looked to a familiar face to help out the secondary here in Tampa Bay. Details on the contract have not yet been released but it will be interesting to see the numbers for the former first round pick turned hybrid linebacker/safety this past season. Bucannon has seen some serious trials and tribulations as a player since his best season back in 2015. Either way, Bucannon will be reunited with Arians in Tampa Bay. With their hire of Bruce Arians, the Buccaneers have gotten a lot of buzz in the last month. Having a proven coach has quickly rejuvenated Tampa Bay’s fan base, even if there are still holes on the roster to fill in the coming months. For the Bucs, he set the over/under at 6.5. He addressed the team’s 3-6 record in one-possession games last year, but did note that Arians had a record of 29-12-1 in such games during his time with the Colts and Cardinals. But here’s where Barnwell has concerns about Tampa Bay in 2019: There are a few things to unpack there. Brent Grimes is gone and Vernon Hargreaves III might need to work exclusively in the slot, so Tampa Bay has to fill that other outside corner position. The unit could also use help at safety.
