Youve heard of Buccis Overtime Challenge? Well, this is Buccis Hat Trick Challenge. Whats the challenge part? Regularly coming up with three hits about the World Cup of Hockey. Sundays games are Team Russia vs. Team Sweden (3 p.m. ET, ESPN) and Team Finland vs. Team North America (8 p.m. ET, ESPN2).1. Starting strong: For the first time in my broadcasting career, I got to say Crosby scores! Canada vs. the Czech Republic was my first non-#cawlidgehawkey play-by-play broadcast outside of the times I turned down the sound on the TV and broadcasted hockey games into my Panasonic tape recorder. (Girls LOVED me in my teenage years.) For my first broadcast of NHL players to be a Saturday night in Toronto describing the movements of 29-year-old Sidney Crosby, who has now entered his true prime intersection of mind, body and soul, well, it was exhilarating. Team Canada was a unit of energy, concentration and confidence against the Czechs in a 6-0 win. The Mike Babcock-Crosby-Carey Price triumvirate has no peer here at the World Cup of Hockey.2. On the other hand: Team USAs collective slog through oatmeal against Europe (a 3-0 loss) was surprising. It was a rainy, humid (90-plus-percent) day in Toronto on Saturday, and that did make ice quality a challenge, as humidity always does. Humidity is the enemy of fast, firm ice. Humidity is still high Sunday. It was surprising to see Kyle Palmieri and Dustin Byfuglien sit as healthy scratches. Coaches know their players better than we do, but Byfuglien is such a special, versatile force, I cant ever imagine not playing him. If Bill Belichick were a hockey coach, he would love using versatile players such as Byfuglien. I would think Palmieri and Byfuglien would be in versus Canada on Tuesday (8 p.m. ET, ESPN) and Jonathan Quick will return in net for the U.S.3. Marchand will cash in: Brad Marchands next contract will be something to watch for Boston Bruins and NHL fans of teams that want him. Marchand will become an unrestricted free agent next summer. For a seven-year deal, a team would be paying for Marchands age 29-35 seasons. An eight-year deal by the Bruins obviously makes the contract for ages 29-36. Marchand is in great shape and loves to train. In fact, a Bruins player told me last season that the Bruins have to slow Marchand down sometimes from overtraining. He should age well, and Mark Recchi, I think, is a good comparable to Marchand. Recchi continued to produce and be durable in his 29-36-year-old years. I think its going to take eight years at about $7 million per to sign Marchand, and Im surprised that it hasnt already been done by the Bruins. Teams will be lining up next summer if he becomes a UFA. Nike Sb Dunk High Cheap . Perez, 35, posted a 1-2 record with a 3.69 earned-run average in 19 relief appearances last season. His season ended Aug. 9 due to a torn ligament in his left elbow. Nike Sb Dunk Low Cheap .Y. -- Marcell Dareus and the Buffalo Bills defence made life miserable for Super Bowl MVP Joe Flacco. CINCINNATI -- Early in the morning, Marvin Lewis cell phone will ring. Without even seeing the caller ID, he knows who it is.Who else but Hue Jackson? When my phone rings at 5 oclock in the morning, I know its only one person, the Cincinnati Bengals coach said. Its not Chad (Johnson), either. Its Chads former coach, Hue. I miss the hell out of him. I watch their games every week and text or call him. They became as close as brothers during their many years of coaching, which included Jacksons stint as the offensive coordinator in Cincinnati before he accepted the job as the Cleveland Browns head coach in the offseason. Theyll go head-to-head on Sunday at Paul Brown Stadium as division rival coaches for the first time.Theyve cut back on the calls and texts this week, respecting each others privacy. But there will be more of those 5 a.m. chats after Sundays game.Thats the truth, Jackson said, on a conference call. You guys know my fondness for Marvin. Marvin raised me in this profession, especially in the National Football League. So I have a lot of respect for him. I trust him on so many different levels, and hes taught me a lot. So I do bounce things off of him.Though separated by the length of a state, theyve helped each other get through some tough times.Jacksons Browns (0-6) are the only winless team left in the league, off to their worst start since they were a first-year expansion team in 1999. Theyve used five quarterbacks because of injuries and dropped games in gut-wrenching ways. With every injury and loss, their coach has gotten encouragement from Cincinnati.Everybody needs that from time to time, Jackson said. Hes been there for me and again, as I just said, I really appreciate that.It goes both ways. Lewis Bengals are off to their worst start since 2010, putting their club-record streak of five straight playoff appearances in jeopardy. Hes appreciated the pick-me-up messages, too.ddddddddddddOur margin for error has not been very good thus far this season, Lewis said.Lewis is still benefiting from Jacksons time in Cincinnati. During his two years as offensive coordinator, Jackson helped Andy Dalton develop into a team leader and one of the NFLs elite quarterbacks. Dalton leads the AFC in yards passing heading into their game on Sunday, carrying on with what he learned from Jackson.Hue really pressed on me to get the guys going, and I just think a little bit of his personality carried over, Dalton said. Last year was definitely one of my better years and I think its just the level of confidence Im playing with.Jackson sees the carry-over, though he wont take credit for it.Im not going to say I gave him anything, Jackson said. All I ever tried to do for Andy is create the right environment for him to be the best that he can be.Game notes Heavy rain interrupted the Bengals practice on Thursday, forcing them inside Paul Brown Stadium temporarily. Theyre the only northern team without a covered field. ... TE Tyler Eifert had his most extensive practice since offseason ankle surgery. He was close to returning two weeks ago, but hurt his back. Eifert thinks hes able to play on Sunday, although Lewis hasnt given an indication of his plans. In my mind, Im ready, Eifert said. Two weeks ago before it happened (with the back), I was in really, really good shape. ... LB Vontaze Burfict was limping before and after practice but participated fully. He suffered an ankle injury in practice on Wednesday, but is expected to play against the Browns. ... C Russell Bodine, who suffered a sprained ankle at New England, also practiced fully.---Online: AP NFL website: www.pro32.ap.org and AP NFL Twitter feed: www.twitter.com/AP-NFL ' ' '
