With training camp just three weeks away, John Tortorella has kept the lines of communication open with his No. 1 goaltender and knows hes ready to report. In an interview with The Vancouver Sun on Wednesday, the Vancouver Canucks head coach said hes been in constant contact with Roberto Luongo and added that the veteran netminder just wants to focus on what has to be done on the ice. "I dont want to get into specifics, but I have talked to Roberto four times," he told the paper. "In fact, I just talked to him yesterday. Ill tell you, from talking with him he has told me he is working very hard as far as conditioning and getting ready for this season. "He knows there is a lot of talk and probably a lot of questions coming his way with how it all unfolded here. I think hes prepared for that and the bottom line is he told me I just want to play." The Canucks raised plenty of eyebrows at the NHL Draft when general manager Mike Gillis dealt away presumed No. 1 goaltender Cory Schneider instead of Luongo. The deal - done with the New Jersey Devils - netted the Canucks the ninth overall pick (Bo Horvat) and handed the net firmly back over to Luongo for the foreseeable future. Since the trade was made, Luongo has kept quiet regarding his relationship with the Canucks. He did however, hire Pat Brisson of CAA Sports, who told TSN last month that Luongo would report to training camp. "I think that is the most important thing, if there is some conflict or you are unhappy about certain things, the bottom line is and he understands it, is that he is playing for his teammates," added Tortorella. "Those are the most important people. "I have done a lot of talking to people who have coached him and know him and there is just tremendous support for what kind of pro he is. You dont have to be happy about a lot of different things. You can be really happy about this, unhappy about that, as long as you are ready to play. I think he gets that. So I am really excited about where he is mentally." Fake Balenciaga Cheap . PETERSBURG, Fla. Fake Balenciaga 2020 . Cronulla have promised a fiery welcome for North Queenslands much-vaunted forward pack as they seek to finally erase the painful memory of last years NRL finals exit. The Sharks will meet the Cowboys at Allianz Stadium on Friday night for a spot in the grand final in what promises to be a hostile encounter. The last time the two sides met, the Sharks ran out 13-10 winners at Shark Park after springing an ambush on the premiers in round 14.The game was full of spite with Sharks back-rower Wade Graham rubbed out of his State of Origin debut after being charged with a high tackle on Johnathan Thurston, while Cowboys prop James Tamou was lucky to escape suspension for a shoulder charge on NSW Blues teammate Andrew Fifita. The Sharks went into the game looking to fight fire with fire after being blown off the park 39-0 by the Cowboys in last years semi-final.That loss in week two of the finals still stings many in the Sharks dressing room and prop Matt Prior said the only way to go with the Cowboys was to take it to the likes of Tamou, Matt Scott and Jason Taumalolo from the opening whistle.I think you have to, especially with their big pack, Prior said. They rely on their big boys to get them forward at the start of the game so youve got to try to match them early or theyll just bblow you off the park like they did to us last year in the semi.ddddddddddddPrior shapes as a key figure in the Sharks charge to what they hope will be their maiden premiership after a breakout performance in their semi-final victory over Canberra. After inspirational skipper Paul Gallen was rubbed out pre game and losing back-rower Wade Graham 10 minutes into the contest, Prior proved an unlikely hero in their 16-14 win in the nations capital.Having averaged just over 40 minutes all year, Prior played 73 minutes, ran for 223 metres and scored a crucial try to bring his side back into the game just before halftime. With Chris Heighington likely to leave the club next year and Sam Tagataese off-contract, Prior shapes as the answer to the leadership void coach Shane Flanagan could be faced with next year.It was one of the better performances of my career, Prior said.It was good to get a few more minutes. At the back end of the year Ive been lucky enough to get a few more minutes.I wasnt too worried when Wado went down, I know I can play longer minutes if need be. When I come off I feel I can stay on, so I never really doubted myself in that aspect. ' ' '
