y belt around his waist. The song Singh is King was barely audible once again over the screams of an adoring crowd at New Delhis Antworten

?Vijender Singhs title defence of his WBO Asia Pacific super-middleweight belt ended the same way he won it. On Saturday night, he was hoisted on the shoulders of his trainer Lee Beard, an Indian flag draped around his shoulders and the gaudy belt around his waist. The song Singh is King was barely audible once again over the screams of an adoring crowd at New Delhis Thyagaraj Stadium. But that was the extent of the similarity. If the title had been won over ten rounds against Kerry Hope in July, it was retained a lot faster. The end came early, just under two minutes into the third round of what was scheduled to be a ten-round contest against Tanzanias Francis Cheka. An overhead right hook followed by a left uppercut had Cheka wobbling. Another right over the Tanzanians hopeful left jab had him stumbling into a desperate clinch. His gumshield hung loosely - a few teeth too it appeared from afar. Vijender would say his opponent tried to bite him and the referee separated the two fighters. Cheka didnt heed the call to box again though. His record fell to 32-10-2, a small price to pay for the blessed safety of his corner.Pro boxing is a brutal sport; this fight did little to change that perception. While the fight seemingly ended early, Vijender delivered the coup-de-grace a lot later than he could have. Even as he progressed to 8-0 (7K.Os), he seemingly wanted to prove a point through his opponent.Cheka is considered a gatekeeper of the super-middleweight division. He is an experienced fighter, someone to prove your worth against. He had gone the distance against Matthew Macklin and Paul Smith, who would go on to be World title contenders. He had been stopped by Fedor Chudinov and Robert Stieglitz, who would go on to hold world titles themselves. But none of those fighters had fought the African as early in their career as Vijender had. And none had stopped him as early into a contest as the Indian did.Vijender would chide the media for hyping his opponent. You led yourself to believe him (Cheka). That he would teach me a lesson, he said only half seriously after the bout. But if the press played along in the buildup to the bout, it was Cheka who danced to an unwelcome tune in the fight itself. In hindsight, perhaps he should have chosen a more appropriate song. Cheka had bounded in even as Wiz Khalifa spat out knock knock, you gonna get shell shocked over the speakers.Vijender politely did the knocking in the first round. Aware of the power in Vijenders right hand, Cheka came in with his guard up. Rookie mistake, Vijender may have thought as he unwound a right to the body, under the left side. Punishment received, lesson learned - Cheka dropped his arm. And of course Vijender responded with a head-snapping right. Like a batsman practicing his stroke post dismissal, Cheka belatedly got the arm up.The procedure repeated itself as the bell rang for round two. Left hook swished over low right arm to be stopped by Chekas cheek. The African tried to hold, grabbing at Vijenders left arm. The Indian had learned a few dirty tricks of his own however. He stuck out his elbow, which happened to be at the level at the Tanzanians neck. When the referee restarted the action, Cheka to his credit tried to advance again. A feint from Vijender drew a left jab, aimed low - somewhere at the chest. Vijender had already shifted his weight back, waited for Chekas blow to move air several inches away and then unloaded with his own right. Instead of following up though, he held his arms behind his back and smiled. The fight would mercifully end soon after.Bigger tests will surely come Vijenders way. His promoter Francis Warren expects him to fight for Commonwealth title, his manager Neerav Tomar is setting his sights on an Oriental belt. For now though these seem very plausible targets. On Saturday, Vijender well and truely made his point. http://www.texansrookiestore.com/Hoodie/ .C. -- Kemba Walker and the Charlotte Bobcats got off to a fast start, and the Sacramento Kings were never quite able to catch up. http://www.texansrookiestore.com/Texans-Jeff-Allen-Jersey/ . Robredo, ranked No. 16, bounced back from an upset loss to Leonardo Mayer in the second round of the Royal Guard Open in Chile last week to down Carreno Busta in 1 hour, 25 minutes. On a day filled mostly with qualifying matches, fifth-seeded Marcel Granollers of Spain also entered the second with a 7-5, 3-6, 6-2 win over Aljaz Bedene of Slovenia, while Guido Pella of Argentina defeated Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain 7-6 (6), 6-4 to advance. http://www.texansrookiestore.com/Texans-Andre-Johnson-Jersey/ . The quest begins with what is supposed to be an easy one, although Germany has traditionally been a stubborn opponent to Canadian teams at international tournaments. http://www.texansrookiestore.com/Texans-Bruce-Ellington-Jersey/ . The Hall of Fame defenceman told Landsberg that he believes fighting still has a place in todays game, but thinks staged fighting needs be outlawed. Air Force overcame a season-ending injury to its quarterback last season and still reached the Mountain West title game. Now quarterback Nate Romine is making his way back from tearing up his knee and there is every reason to believe the Falcons, with an experienced defense and plenty of playmakers returning on offense, will be in contention for another division title.Romine was lost in the second game of last season to two torn ligaments in his right knee. Without him, it took a few games for Air Forces triple-option offense to get back up to speed. But once it did the Falcons rolled to a six-game winning streak. The Falcons started preseason practice still learning just how far Romine has to go to be the player he was before the injury. You can tell things are slowing down for him, offensive coordinator Mike Thiessen told The Gazette of Colorado Springs. You can tell hes got all the pieces, that hes managing everybody, taking charge of getting us going tempo-wise. Hes got command of whats going on on offense.Romine has eight career starts. The Falcons dont throw it a lot, but coach Troy Calhouns triple-option likes to incorporate a good dose of play-action passes and shots down field. Romine has the passing skills to make that part of the game more of a threat for Air Force.Still, the quarterback has to be able to run to make the offense go.The Falcons should support their quarterback well. Fullback Jacobi Owens will be looking for a third straight 1,000-yard rushing season and five other players who ran for at least 425 yards and 5.2 per carry are back. Plus, leading receiver Jalen Robinette, who averaged 24.7 yards per catch lasst year, is back.ddddddddddddhe defense that ranked in the middle of the Mountain West pack last year at 5.71 yards per play allowed returns nine starters, including all-conference safety Weston Steelhammer.SEASON OPENER: The Falcons ease into the season against FCS Abilene Christian on Sept. 3, which should be helpful as Air Force works Romine back into playing shape. Week 2 is a home game against Georgia State and then an early off week.UP FRONT: The unit that needs the most retooling is the offense, where Air Force loses three starters, including two all-conference players. As is usually the case at the academy, there are upperclassmen ready to step in. The Falcons led the conference in yards per play last season at 6.40. The only thing likely to stand in the way of a similar showing in 2016 is the development of the line.KEY GAMES: After the break, the Falcons get cranking with a road trip to Utah State, always a Mountain Division contender, and a home game against Navy. Air Forces division title hopes figure to be settled in November with home games against Colorado State (Nov. 12) and Boise State (Nov. 25).PREDICTION: With three of their toughest games at home and so much experience, the Falcons are set up to reach that finale against the Broncos with the division title in reach. Even if Boise State avenges last seasons loss to Air Force, it should be another typically successful season for Calhoun in his 10th year at the academy. The Falcons should easily match last seasons 8-4 regular season.
