Especially with the paucity of lesser-priced options, one of the more popular candidates looks to be Cole Hamels with the Texas Rangers opening a weekend set in Tropicana Field with the Tampa Bay Rays. Hamels enjoys a nice park upgrade, facing a club that whiffs at an elevated 26 percent clip against southpaws.Gerrit Cole?joins Cueto as a normally reliable hurler in a bit of a tailspin. The Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander has given up nine earned runs over his last two starts, encompassing only 10 innings. Cole has the luxury of working on pitcher-friendly PNC Park against a Miami Marlins club still without Justin Bour to go along with recently losing Giancarlo Stanton for the duration of the season.
